Heartbeats and Happiness

17 Weeks and 2 days! Here are some fun facts!

This week our babies are about 5 to 6 inches from crown to rump, but if they were stretched out from head to toe they would measure a whopping 9 inches! Crazy!

-The babies weighs about 5 ounces and are beginning to develop fat, this will continue until birth.

-The babies eyes are facing more forward and the ears are now close to their final position.

-The babies are more flexible with ability to move head, mouth, lips, arms, wrists, hands, legs, feet, and toes.

-The babies sense of hearing is now developing, and they are consumed with listening to the sounds of it's mother's heartbeat.

-Their urinary tract, brain, muscles, nervous and circulatory systems are now functioning, and the babies breathe in the amniotic fluid to get the lungs ready for breathing air.

Weekly wisdom: He will bring peace!

So, if you didn't catch it: heard BOTH heartbeats today. They were moving around but she got them both. Both were between 140-150 today. We have scheduled the BIG ultrasound for Tuesday October 19th at 12:30pm! The ultrasound itself will take an hour and so will the appointment after. So, be patient to hear from us! We are so excited and trusting they are going to be perfectly healthy. If you haven't done it yet, vote on the poll at the top right of my blog!
